Alessandro Meneghini was born in Marostica (VI) in 1989. He started playing drums when he was 10 years-old. This passion came by listening rock influenced albums in the car with his father. He remembers one fondly: Zucchero’s “Spirito DiVino”, with Steve Smith and Stewart Copeland at the drums. Then he started to attend a private music school where he met teachers like Marco Carlesso, Graziano Colella and Marco Andrighetto. Growing up he changed the type of music he listened, but the passion for rock remained. In this way he got to know and started studying the styles of John Bonham (Led Zeppelin), Ian Paice (Deep Purple), Keith Moon (The Who), Jeff Porcaro, just to say some of the drummers of the golden years of this genre. Currently Alessandro recognizes that he’s influenced by different and modern sounds and ways of playing: Darren King (ex Mutemath), Orri Páll Dýrason (Sigur Ros), Dominic Howard (Muse), and many other drummers who belong to the underground and hip-hop fields, both Italians and internationals. As a teenager he started to play in different bands. He is a founding member of the Virtual Time, a band from Bassano del Grappa created in 2012. He recorded various albums. The first one made his band known to the general public thanks to Virgin Radio. The Virtual Time are musically active along all Italy and in Europe. He achieved the Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineer and currently he is getting the Master’s degree in Energetic Engineer. He teaches drums to beginners who want to get to know this instrument for the first time. He had collaborations with various musicians of his region, in recording studios and live concerts.
